Fractures of the base of the orbit and other walls of the orbit (burst fractures) are common midface injuries. Orbital fractures have a different mechanism of trauma. The frontal, ethmoidal, sphenoid, zygomatic, and lacrimal bones form the bony structures of the orbit. Due to the complex anatomy of the bony and soft tissue structures involved, the consequences and treatment are also complex.

Knowledge of anatomy is a must when dealing with patients presenting with orbital trauma. In these evaluations and treatment planning, the cause and mechanism of orbital floor fractures should also be evaluated. After reviewing all factors in planning the treatment, the professional team's role in assessing and diagnosing the patient's condition and managing the treatment is reviewed.

It is useful to inform the patient about the details. After orbital surgery, strabismus problems, and position abnormalities related to the lids may also have to be included in the treatment plan after orbital wall repair.

For these reasons, experience is important in treating orbital blow-out fractures.
